Local Outreach

Our desire is to reach the unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The goal of the Local Outreach Ministries is to find and facilitate ways for our church family to be on mission with Jesus in our city. Our Local Outreach Ministries include Life Explored and Hands and Feet. Through these two ministries, we seek to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet felt needs within our neighboring communities.

What is Life Explored?

We believe that every believer is called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to spread the gospel. Life Explored is one of the ways our church seeks to spread the gospel and make Jesus known in our city. Every Fall, we host a 10 week series of Life Explored. This consists of community forums where we directly share the gospel and have an open discussion with non-believers about their concerns and thoughts. Each week we touch on a different aspect of the story of Jesus, seeking to provide a space for non-believers to wrestle with the reality of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Life Explored Meetings

Join us for conversations on faith, life, and God. At Life Explored, we host open forums in the community to discuss life’s hardest questions on faith. Anyone is welcome, religious or non-religious, to join the discussion. As a church we seek to listen and be a witness for Christ. Learn More >

What is Hands and Feet?

Hands and Feet seeks to meet felt needs within our local communities. We do this in multiple ways; scroll below to read more about these opportunities.

Partnering with the La Jolla Town Council

Our very own Obed Brefo was inducted as a La Jolla Town Council council member. Through this, we are able to hear some of the heartbeat of La Jolla and find ways to partner with them and serve our city. Learn More >

Partnering with the Pacific Beach Town Council

Every year the PBTC hosts a 4 week Concert on the Green series at Kate Sessions Park. We help by supplying volunteers for set-up and tear-down, host a kid’s booth with various activities, supply performers, and help with planning and advertising. This is an awesome way for us to be visible in our community.

Shoreline Community Services

Shoreline Community Services is a local PB organization that seeks to serve and support our unhoused neighbors in the PB area. We partner with Shoreline by managing the Saturday Meal Service. We partner with the Catholic Worker and YogaBox to serve a warm meal to 30-50 unhoused neighbors each Saturday morning. Learn More >

Easter Events

In 2023, KXC hosted our first ever outdoor Easter Service and Community Easter Egg Hunt. This was an incredible opportunity to share the good news of Jesus’s resurrection with our community. We hope to make this an annual event for our church and the surrounding community!

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a Samaritan’s Purse ministry that seeks to send Christmas gifts to kids all over the world who otherwise wouldn’t receive a gift during Christmas. As a church, we seek to fill and send as many Christmas boxes each season as we can! Learn More >

Collegiate Ministries

KXC has several staff and non-staff members of local collegiate ministries, Navigators and Cru, attending our church. We love to find ways to support them as they seek to spread the gospel on their campuses. Some ways we do this include: financially supporting ministers, hearing their needs, celebrating their stories, and providing space for hosting events, as needed.
