2025 YEAR-END GIVING
Hey Church Family,
As we approach the end of the year, we have much to celebrate and reflect on as a church family. Even though we’ve had challenges, over this past year, God has been incredibly faithful to us:
Obed in England: Though Obed and his family have been in England awaiting a long-delayed Green Card appointment interview, God has sustained our church through this unusual season. Through guest preachers, video preaching, virtual meetings, and shared leadership, the mission has continued. This has been a living reminder that the church is not built on one person, but on Christ, our firm foundation. For updates on the Brefos you can read their blog HERE.
Growth: Our church continued steady attendance. Our Sunday Service now averages 275 attendees.
Sermon Series: This year, we continued through the book of Matthew. During the summer, we focused on the Psalms. You can access all of our sermons on our Website, Apple Podcast and Spotify.
Community Groups: Our Community Groups, including a new group in La Jolla and Crown Point, have been vital in fostering connection and care within our church. You can join a group HERE.
Baptism: 4 people publicly declared their faith through baptisms this year.
KXC Youth: Our youth group continues to grow with more Middle School and High School students beginning to attend from our church and neighborhood. More info on our youth group can be found HERE.
Serve Tour: In February, we had the joy of hosting Serve Tour San Diego, and what a gift it was. Over 700 volunteers completed 40 service projects across our city—painting, landscaping, cooking, building, and blessing. We served our way into conversations, relationships, and open doors for the gospel. Our church even made the front page of a local newspaper, giving public witness to Christ’s love expressed through good works.
Easter 2025: We had record attendance at both our Easter Service and Carnival at Kate Sessions Park. Over 500 people attended our Easter Service and almost 700 people attended the carnival. Many people came up to our prayer tent to receive prayer. Praise God for the favor and resources to declare Jesus’s Death and Resurrection publicly while also blessing our community!
Sports Camp: This year, we hosted our very first Sports Camp. We welcomed children and families from our church and community. Through games, teamwork, and time in God’s Word, kids experienced joy, encouragement, and the love of Christ in practical ways. It was a meaningful step in serving families and building bridges into our neighborhood. One of our volunteers got to share the gospel with one of the 7 year olds who wanted to "know more about Jesus."
Women’s Conference: This year, we also hosted our first Women’s Conference. It was a special weekend for women to draw near to the Lord, and grow together in faith. Guided by the theme Growing in Christ through Spiritual Disciplines (2 Peter 3:18), women from our church family taught on practical, biblical rhythms such as prayer, Bible reading, worship, and fellowship. There was rich fellowship, shared meals, meaningful conversations, fun group activities, and space to encourage one another in the grace of Christ. It was a beautiful picture of women walking together toward spiritual maturity.
Men’s Retreat: This year, we also held our very first Men’s Retreat. We partnered with several like-minded local churches to create a weekend for men in our church to step away from daily demands and seek the Lord together. Through teaching, prayer, honest conversation, and shared meals, bonds were strengthened and faith deepened.
Operation Christmas Child and Holiday Drive: As a church, we filled over 48 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and collected over 8 large bins of food, clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, and gift cards for local families in need. This year we were able to bless foster youth, low-income families, and young women recovering from exploitation; many of whom are facing significant hardship during the government shutdown and lapse in SNAP benefits.
God has truly been at work in and through our church, and we’re so grateful for each of you who has been part of this journey.
Looking Forward to 2026
As we look forward to 2026, we want to invite you to consider how you can partner with us above and beyond from your normal tithing. This Year’s Year-End Giving will be earmarked for the following:
Mission Trip: We’re planning our first international Missions Trip in 2026. Year-End giving will go to reducing the overall costs of the trip for those who God has called to go.
Internship Program: We want to establish an Internship program in 2026 for individuals who want to experience working in ministry. Additional giving will go to help pay for this internship program.
Strategic Facility Improvements: There are additional improvements we are hoping to make to our building. Additional giving will go to help cover these costs.
Give Above & Beyond
The Apostle Paul encourages us in 2 Corinthians 9v7-8:
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."
Would you prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to contribute to the work of King’s Cross Church?
This is an invitation to give—and to give above and beyond your regular tithes and offerings.
In a season infamous for consumerism and indulgence, can we, as followers of Jesus, swim against the current and sow seeds of Kingdom generosity?
